Heravi I-Complex (Tehran, Iran)
Regarding their client's demands, the architects developed and proposed a scenario for this project to become an office building that could host high-tech companies with their demanding high standards. They decided to name this type of office space as i-office. Due to the common abundance of bad quality of construction of short-lived buildings that lay their materials to waste, and to the shortage of office space, it was decided that this building should become efficient and reproducible.
As the urban scale, the Heravi I-Complex (as the building is called) aims to maximize its interaction with the urban context and maintain the principle of the cityscape. In other words, losing net space despite the fact that it increases the quality of space can cause its own problems; to gain added value from such a project would become much more realistic if an architecturally high-quality space could be achieved while making maximal use of the land plot. Traditionally, Tehran's elegantly crafted office building used to portray such a goal.
They designed a facade with a dynamic mass that is a border that communicates with the city and uses contemporary craftsmanship thus becoming Tehran's facade itself. The balconies, as grey spaces on the facade, are spaces of getting connected with the open space for i-office staff to repose and refresh. The office spaces are designed in a flexible manner allowing the staff to define their own way of "being" in place of their workplace.
The border between inside and outside, a grey space shrivels to create a diverse and dynamic space for its users. Other spaces of the building ranging from the roof to parking have been designed as quality spaces maintaining the highest functional standards.
